"Blame it on the alcohol..."

Who: [livejournal.com profile] justbeingaqueen, [livejournal.com profile] rockstarwarbler and [livejournal.com profile] zephyrnovotny (posting order)
What: That awkward moment where your son's hungover
Where: Blaine & Michael's home
When: During Glee episode 2x14, morning after THIS scene

Kurt never, ever wanted to drive four and a half hours with a hungover person again. But Blaine didn't actually live in Ohio, despite being a boarding student at Dalton during the week. He lived in Pittsburgh and after Burt had just discovered Blaine hungover in Kurt's bed, which went down like a lead balloon, Kurt figured he had to continue to be the responsible one here and get Blaine home to his dad ASAP. Blaine wasn't supposed to have been drinking the night before. It was only Thursday night and they had school at Dalton the next day. The plan had only been to go for a couple of hours to not be antisocial and Kurt had wanted Blaine to meet his McKinley friends. Boy had that plan gone out the window as soon as they realised the purpose of the party had been to drink and Puck into the liquor cabinet. Kurt had permission, but Blaine had erred on the side of irresponsibility, figuring he could be back at Dalton before curfew and it would all be fine.

But Blaine ended up getting epically drunk. It was quite unlike anything Kurt had seen before, and whilst it was funny at first, it soon got miserable when Blaine fell off the small stage and nearly knocked himself unconscious - laughing the whole time - and then snogged Rachel during Spin the Bottle which he followed by singing a duet with her. Kurt spent the rest of the night fuming, because he knew he had been developing feelings for Blaine lately. It was a miracle Blaine wasn't left on the side of the road abandoned, but Kurt couldn't do that. They were still friends, after all.

Once he woke up the next day, though, giving Kurt's dad, Burt, the shock of his life in the biggest awkward moment ever, Blaine's hangover hit with a vengeance. There was no way he could take him to Dalton like that and Burt insisted Kurt take Blaine home... not realising Blaine lived in another state, even though it was a doable trip in a morning. It turned into more like five and a half hours, though, because they had to keep stopping for Blaine's stomach. Kurt finally pulled his Navigator into Blaine's drive and he didn't even have a chance to shut the engine off before Blaine was throwing himself out of he passenger's seat to throw up all over the path leading up to the front door. Kurt gripped the steering wheel with a long-suffering sigh as his exhaustion started to set in and then turned the ignition off.

He was just getting out of the car to help Blaine (again), shoving his sunglasses up onto his head, when the front door of the house opened and a gut about similar age to his own dad and the same height as Blaine burst out. "Mr Anderson...?" he asked nervously with a concerned glance at Blaine.
