THISIt was the end of a very long shift for Andrew. Nineteen hours, to be exact. In fact, it was the end of a long week of long shifts because on of their rotational ER doctors had been in a car accident last week and was out of action. They were waiting on a locum to fill the gap from another city, but until they, everyone was pushed to the limit and Andrew had taken more than his fair share of double shifts. Which was why his apartment had absolutely sweet FA in his fridge or cupboards, and as much as he just wanted to go home, take a shower and crash out, he had to go to the store for groceries or he would need to live on takeout. And really, you couldn't wipe your ass on takeout, could you?
He had just grabbed some tissues, shower gel, toothpaste, and deodorant before he backtracked just a little to grab a box of condoms and some lube, tossing those in on top of everything too. It was probably optimistic considering his work schedule of late, but better to be prepared than caught short. Forever thinking like a doctor, and bisexual one at that. But he had
just thrown the items into the cart and caught himself up in a yawn, causing him to accidentally back into some poor soul who was standing on the opposite side of the aisle and just a little further up in front of the rows of toilet paper.
"Shit, I'm sorry! Momentary lapse in concentration! Are you hurt?" he said quickly and then realised he actually knew the guy, who was standing there with a super-sized back of toilet paper under his arm, and the one with clouds on it to boot. "We really have to stop meeting like this. It's been, what, a least three weeks since Taco Bell, right? How's Blaine doing? I haven't seen him in awhile, he cancelled our last appointment." This was Michael Novotny, who was Blaine Anderson's father. Andrew was a doctor with a speciality in Emergency and Trauma Medicine and he was working in the ER at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center the night Blaine was brought in after the horrific gay bashing he sustained. Ever since then, Blaine had three-monthly appointments with Andrew just to make sure there wasn't any lasting damage and at this point, it seemed migraines were the only thing of concern.
