Who:
rockstarwarbler and
justbeingaqueenWhat: That awkward moment where you've been a jerk to your best friend
Where: Hummel Home, Lima
When: Follows Blaine's realisation he's "100% gay"
It had been a hell of a week for Blaine, and he mostly spent it locked away in his room in Pittsburgh with his music turned up loudly while he laid on his bed staring at the ceiling trying to figure his head out, or throwing himself into school work so he didn't need to think about the fact he had a fight with Kurt. Or the fact he had gotten drunk and his dad still hadn't actually confronted him about that yet, or even said anything about Kurt. It had to be coming, Blaine knew that. His dad wouldn't just let the issue slide... would he?
But then Blaine had to go back to Dalton, and he had gone the whole week avoiding Kurt because - if he got down to the nitty gritty of it - he was hurt because Kurt was the only one he had confided in for a long time and suddenly it felt like that was gone. He wanted to be upset with Kurt but honestly, he just missed him and felt like too much of an idiot suddenly not being sure of his sexuality. What if his father was right? What if Blaine wasn't gay and it had just been confusion this whole time? He felt ashamed for telling Kurt he was gay if he wasn't, and then he just thought himself in circles. As soon as Rachel kissed him sober, though, he just...
knew. There was nothing in that kiss. It felt stilted, awkward, and there was absolutely nothing in it. He expected that, when he kissed someone, the world was supposed to feel like it moved underneath you. He was gay, and now he had to crawl back to Kurt and apologise... which is what he was going to do first, because it meant he could procrastinate about going to his dad to tell him anything. The 'Hey, Dad, I kissed a girl and I didn't like it' really wasn't a conversation he was looking forward to, to say the least.
So, here he was. Friday afternoon after Warblers practice, but instead of driving home to Pittsburgh, he took a detour to Kurt's place in Lima and was now standing on the doorstep of the Hummel home, ringing the doorbell. He was fully expecting Kurt to tell him to shove his friendship where the sun didn't shine, and suddenly, he was so nervous his belly was doing little flip-flops he couldn't control.
